On the 18th of October at 16:00 hrs we will open the exhibitions of Fotofestival Schiedam.

The exhibitions can be viewed from Thursday 18th of October until Sunday 28th of October 2018. Opening hours are between 11:00- 17:00 hours unless indicated otherwise. Most locations are closed on Monday and Tuesday unless indicated otherwise at locations.


The festival is mostly free of charge. For certain special program activities, such as lectures and workshops, tickets are for sale. If a ticket is required, it will be mentioned on this page at the specific activity. Once tickets are on sale, we will add all the ticketing info and announce the on-sale date and details via Facebook.



Schiedam is easily accessible by public transport. When using enter ‘Station Schiedam Centrum’ and this service will give you your specific travel itinerary. From Schiedam Station, a route marked on our map will lead directly to the city center, where most of the festival takes place. Just follow the Fotofestival Schiedam and S’DAM signing. The walking distance to the various locations is between 5 and 12 minutes. See the map for more information.

tram and metro

From Rotterdam, you can take tram 21 and 24 which will take you to Schiedam in about 15 minutes. You need to exit at the stop called ‘Koemarkt’. Check or for the most actual timetables.


Prefer to travel by car? Schiedam is easily accessible but please note that in and around the center of Schiedam there is paid parking (€ 1.90 per hour). In some narrow residential areas close to shops, it is only possible to buy a day ticket.

Paid parking is valid on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 09:00 to 20:00 hours, on Thursdays (late-night shopping) from 09:00 to 21:00 hours and on Saturdays from 09:00 to 17:00 hours. Parking is free on Sundays and public holidays. This also applies to shop Sundays (the first Sunday of the month).


Explore the festival and Schiedam by bike? Take the OV Bicycle or rent a bike at Station Schiedam. From Rotterdam city center a cycle to Schiedam takes approximately 25 minutes.


We aim to make the festival as accessible as possible for visitors with special needs, but we are limited by the architecture or facilities of some of the historical and extraordinary locations.
